Hobson McCain

Hobson McCain is a twenty-five year old activist and creative. He grew up in Norcross, and Snellville, Georgia. As a kid, his interests were mainly Math, science and sports. He attended Brookwood Highschool where he played varsity football and eventually received a scholarship to play football at the collegiate level at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.   

It was at Lehigh where Hobson’s focus shifted from Math and Engineering to political science. During his time at Lehigh, Hobson began to develop a passion for human rights, social activism, and equality.  Prior to graduating, Hobson worked on campus to improve the social experience of minority students on campus and also volunteered on campaigns canvassing, and organizing to preserve the environment. Hobson graduated with a B.A. in Political Science in 2018. 

Before becoming Operations Coordinator at NPLI, Hobson worked as a Paralegal and field organizer in Georgia. His advocacy continued in various voter engagement and Legislative research opportunities at the Georgia Capitol. Throughout his professional career, Hobson has maintained civic engagement and racial equity as a focus in his work. Hobson currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia where he is a member of Kappa Alpha Sigma chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated.
