Leadership is a journey of continuous learning, reflection, and growth.
We’re proud to celebrate NPLI Executive Director Donna Thompson-Bennett, who was selected to participate in Gathering to Rise, a leadership cohort hosted by the Interaction Institute for Social Change (IISC).
The program brought together Black, Indigenous, Latine, Arab, Middle Eastern, North African, Asian, and Pacific Islander women and gender-expansive leaders for a shared experience centered on reflection, connection, resilience, joy, and collective wisdom.
Through virtual sessions and individualized coaching, Donna had the opportunity to deepen her leadership practice, build meaningful relationships with peers, and explore new ways to navigate change while sustaining herself and the work she leads.
“I look forward to bringing back new ideas, renewed energy, and an even deeper commitment to leading with purpose, compassion, and the belief that when we invest in ourselves, we are better equipped to connect and partner with the power of others.”

At NPLI, we believe our own learning matters too. Creating space for staff to grow, reflect, and learn alongside others helps us show up more thoughtfully in our work with families, partners, and communities.
We’re proud to celebrate Donna’s participation in Gathering to Rise and the perspective, relationships, and renewed energy she brings back to NPLI. Congratulations, Donna!
