Meet Dr. Eddie Manuszak: A Champion for Early Learning
We’re excited to welcome Dr. Edward J. Manuszak II to the NPLI Board. Eddie brings 30 years of experience in public education, and he’s spent that time fighting for children, families, and equitable systems that work for everyone.
Today, he serves as Executive Director for Early Childhood at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District in Michigan. Before that, he led Dundee Community Schools as Superintendent. Throughout his career, Eddie has focused on building strong foundations for learning and leadership at every level.
He co-leads the AASA National Early Learning Cohort, helped publish the AASA Early Learning Toolkit, and developed the Early Learning Program Assessment Tool (ELPAT). He’s also contributed his expertise to national and state efforts through the Federal Office of Head Start, NAEYC, and the Michigan Head Start Association.
Outside of work, Eddie loves hiking, biking, and exploring national parks with his wife, Corey, and their sons, Lucas and Noah. We’re lucky to have him on board and excited about the energy and knowledge he brings to our mission.
A Standing Ovation for Kwesi Rollins
We’re also celebrating an important moment for Kwesi Rollins, Vice Chair of our Board. Kwesi recently received the Jocelyn Graves Award from Parent Teacher Home Visits (PTHV), a national honor that recognizes people who build trust, center relationships, and create lasting change in their communities.
That’s exactly what Kwesi does. As a leader at the Institute for Educational Leadership, he’s spent years strengthening school-family partnerships and pushing for policies that reflect real community voices. He leads with integrity, care, and a belief that every family matters.
This award recognizes that kind of leadership, and we couldn’t be prouder.
