Introducing the NPLI Family Advisory

Trusted voices helping shape the future of our work

We’re excited to share that NPLI has launched a new Family Advisory, a trusted circle of family, civic, and community leaders who will help shape our work from the inside out.

This advisory group will serve as a sounding board and strategic thought partner on NPLI’s efforts around family leadership, democracy-building, and systems change. By sharing their lived experience, insights, and values, they will help guide conversations that inform our internal strategy, organizational priorities, and long-term goals.

A Collective of Diverse Leaders

The Family Advisory brings together a dynamic and deeply diverse group of individuals from across the country. Members represent communities in the Northeast, South, Midwest, West Coast, and tribal nations. They span a wide range of ages, cultures, languages, and lived experiences. Among them are PLTI and CLTI alumni, former board members, artists, educators, youth leaders, and advocates with deep roots in community-driven change.

This collective reflects the richness of our broader parent leadership network and the future we are working toward.

Centering Lived Experience in Strategy

As part of the advisory, members will:

  • Join virtual meetings to offer insight on NPLI’s work
  • Reflect on emerging needs and opportunities in their communities
  • Provide recommendations to staff and board leadership
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives based on their expertise and interests

The group will hold its first meeting at the end of October, setting the foundation for ongoing collaboration and learning.

We’re excited to share more about the members and their work in a future update. For now, we are deeply grateful to each advisory member for stepping into this role. Their commitment to equity, leadership, and collective care will help NPLI stay grounded in what matters most.
