{"id":1969,"date":"2018-06-10T16:02:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-10T16:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/parentswholead.org\/?p=1969"},"modified":"2020-07-24T16:08:38","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T16:08:38","slug":"childrens-defense-fund-freedom-schools-ella-baker-child-policy-institute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/parentswholead.org\/es\/childrens-defense-fund-freedom-schools-ella-baker-child-policy-institute\/","title":{"rendered":"Children&#8217;s Defense Fund Freedom Schools Ella Baker Child Policy Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ella Baker Child Policy Institute<\/strong><br>Knoxville, Tennessee<br>June 4th \u2013 June 6th, 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NPLI Co-Directors Donna Thompson-Bennett and Patti Keckeisen were honored to be invited back to the&nbsp;Children\u2019s Defense Fund Freedom Schools Ella Baker Child Policy Institute this summer to be onto leadership team of trainers who prepare college students and recent graduates&nbsp;to deliver the model Integrated Reading Curriculum and to make learning fun for children this summer at the CDF Freedom Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NPLI\u2019s role is, in part, was facilitate a deeper understanding for participants on the dynamics of family engagement and how to be collaborators with parents. &nbsp;The impact of the workshop speaks for itself, here are a few insights from participants:\u201c<em>The entire session was meaningful and intentional.
