{"id":592,"date":"2020-03-25T03:15:33","date_gmt":"2020-03-25T03:15:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/parentswholead.org\/?page_id=592"},"modified":"2020-12-20T02:06:03","modified_gmt":"2020-12-20T02:06:03","slug":"implementation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/parentswholead.org\/es\/resources\/implementation\/","title":{"rendered":"Implementation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What makes a Parent Leadership Training Institute \u201cReady\u201d Community?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may have explored our website, heard from a parent or been encouraged by a partner and arrived at the point of wanting to implement the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) in your community.&nbsp; After years of implementing and sustaining PLTI&nbsp; in various locations over the past 25 years, we have a pretty good idea of what community readiness looks like.&nbsp; We have received countless requests for PLTI engagement from various sites and states: some are PLTI-ready and some are not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You might be wondering, \u201cIs my community ready?\u201d<br>A PLTI-ready community:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Seeks to have parent engagement, but may not know how;<\/li><li>Is willing to work outside of a single issue area;<\/li><li>Is not zealous to move a particular agenda or law;<\/li><li>Is able to and seeks to work across policy and program areas;<\/li><li>Is willing to begin to think about civics rather than just services for families;<\/li><li>Is able to work with a diverse group of stakeholders that represent the demographics of the region;<\/li><li>Is willing to share leadership across community and agency. This does not have to be led by and for just one agency;<\/li><li>Is willing to create a civic design team that brings in civic messengers as well as children\u2019s agencies. This might include a fireman, a children\u2019s librarian, the barber, a neighbor as well as civic institutions such as a children\u2019s museum or library.<\/li><li>Embrace difference in values and diversity at every level of the system;<\/li><li>Can help raise funds with others to pay for the startup;<\/li><li>Is willing to take part in a national evaluation and will collect data on each person, pre and post class on civic skills;<\/li><li>Will create a process and system that will assist parents in their civic projects;<\/li><li>Has a network of people who will guide parent leadership and family civics in the town for children and youth;<\/li><li>Will work with parents as partners after they graduate;<\/li><li>Understands that work will need to be done to ensure local systems are ready to engage parents as leaders post-PLTI; and<\/li><li>Works systemically, rather than agency by agency<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n<form  class=\"kaliforms-form-container bootstrap-wrapper\" data-form-id=\"1160\" method=\"POST\" style=\"opacity:0\" action=\"\"><h3>Implementation Form<\/h3><div id=\"kaliforms-global-error-message-1160\" class=\"global-error-message\">Failed to send your message.
