\"\"LaVon Curtis, a Change Agent, Parent and Community Leader with over 10 years of advocacy experience. LaVon was born and raised in Alexandria, VA, a proud T.C.<\/p>\n

Williams Titan, and Business Administration Ashford University alumni. LaVon currently serves as a Supervisory Management Analyst for the Chief of Staff,
Army National Guard, where she provides oversight for the Contract Management Branch. She established and founded the award-winning Bright Resilient Youth Committed to Enrichment (BRYCE) Program, a non-profit which is designed to cultivate community service and kindness among teenagers throughout Northern Virginia.<\/p>\n


LaVon\u2019s current community and civic engagement includes roles on the City of
Alexandria Economics Opportunity Commission which directly supports Alexandria City
Council and the Department of Community and Human Services, Center for Children
and Families, the United Way National Capital Region Council, the Alexandria Parent
Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) Executive Board, PLTI Alumni Engagement and
Race Equity Roundtable, the Fly Minds Youth Program and the Lakeridge Middle School
PTA. She is also an active member of the Woodson Center, Community Affiliate
Network (CAN), and Order of the Eastern Star (OES), Queen of Sheba Chapter in
Washington, DC.<\/p>\n

LaVon leads with optimism and focuses on others’ potential. She\u2019s known for being a
hard worker with the ability to influence, persuade others positively, and having a never
quit attitude when it comes to challenges. In addition to being foster parents, LaVon
and her husband are raising their thirteen-year-old son in the Occoquan\/Lakeridge
District of Prince William County.<\/p>\n
